My Sleep Preferences: I sleep soundly at any time of the year, so I love any sheets that let you regulate the temperature and keep you cool. I also especially like natural fibers, so look for them in my bedding.
About the brand: The Buffy collection uses eucalyptus fabrics that are pleasant to the touch. “More breathable than cotton, softer than linen,” was one of the claims on the site, so I was drawn to the news. These sheets are also safe for pets, children and people with sensitive skin.
My experience: When I touch these sheets, my first thought is how soft they are – almost like silk! I also love the lovely soft gray that is made up of natural ingredients such as turmeric, rose petals, bark and gardenia. After they slept a few nights, I was convinced that the cool statement turned out to be true – I was comfortable all night.
Bottom line: I appreciate the sustainability of the materials Buffy uses: eucalyptus is grown in Austria and the Czech Republic and requires 10 times less water to produce than cotton. Plus, when I get up close, I always prefer naturally dyed fabrics. Finally, with the true cooling power and softness of sheets, I would definitely recommend them to hot sleepers.
My Sleep Preferences: I tend to use just about every possible excuse to stay in bed in the morning, so I know it’s best not to keep my bedroom so cool that I don’t want to get out of bed! Ideally, the room should be around 67 degrees, but otherwise I’m not picky about my sleep needs. However, when it comes to bedding, the fabric needs to be softer to the touch.
About the brand: I tested a set of Sijo’s Eucalyptus sheets (with that name, how can you not be interested?). I have always associated eucalyptus with health – great for steaming in the shower for aromatherapy or as a body oil to relax. Installing beds into plants seems like a natural process. However, if you’re a quick reader of material labels like me, know that eucalyptus isn’t fully listed. Instead, the boards are made from 100% TENCEL Lyocell fibers, which are made from many wood sources, including eucalyptus, which are converted into dissolving cellulose and extruded into fibers.
In the manufacture of bed linen, especially in Sijo, it turns out incredibly soft, smooth and hypoallergenic. The sheets remind me of my favorite silk shirts, light and comfortable yet elegant. They’re light and cuddly, which means that not only do they drape beautifully over the sides of the bed, but they’re also breathable—or “naturally cool,” as the brand calls them.
My experience: At the moment I use eucalyptus sheets all year round – a light duvet in the summer and a duvet in the winter – and they are still silky soft and breathable. Compared to my previous sheets, I certainly noticed that my sleep was less wet.
Bottom line: I can’t get over how comfortable this set is, and besides being cool, it has a wonderful sheen that makes me still feel like a kid in a pet store, wanting to touch its softness every time I pass by. past. For these 100% lyocell sheets (eucalyptus is often the material from which lyocell fibers are made), Italic uses the same factories that make sheets for Frette and Four Seasons. Eucalyptus, like flax and hemp, is said to have endothermic/moisture-wicking properties and more stable growth characteristics. Unlike linen and hemp, they tend to be more earthy and very soft and silky.
My experience: These sheets are really cute! They are cool, as I mentioned earlier, very soft and silky. If you’re not interested in the texture of hemp or linen, this is a great way to try chilling sheets. One downside is that they fit my bed very well, I prefer more breathing space as my mattress protrudes a few inches in those areas.
And then! If you’re interested in eucalyptus, these sheets are much cheaper than sets from other brands (Italic’s website specifically lists the prices for Buffy and Ettitude). However, with a $100/year membership fee, you may be stocking up on household items or clothing in the near future to make your money back. Italics also tend to be sold in limited colorways – these sheets are only available in ivory, which I think is nice, but if you’re looking for something bold and bright, this isn’t for you.
My sleep preferences: Because I have very sensitive skin, I always sleep on 100% cotton sheets (the softer the better) because I know they don’t irritate my skin like other materials. It doesn’t matter what time of the year I like to cover at least some kind of blanket at night – whether it be a blanket, a blanket, or just a sheet – but in the summer I like something cool or cool more. Especially good ventilation, which does not allow me to overheat.
About the brand: Eucalypso is an environmentally friendly family brand that bills itself as the manufacturer of the “world’s softest eucalyptus sheet, guaranteed.” This is made possible by a patented fabric treatment technology that the company says allows TENCEL Lyocell sheets to regulate body temperature, be more breathable and absorb more moisture than cotton. My Experience: Before sleeping on these sheets, I was only familiar with eucalyptus as a skincare ingredient and a koala treat, but that connection quickly changed as I experienced the silky softness of these sheets. Yes. What I like the most about this stuff is that even though it feels thick, the sheets are still cool and I don’t want to throw them off at night. I have slept on them in very choppy weather, the temperature was around 90 degrees for one week and then dropped to 60 degrees the next week, but the sheets stayed cool and well ventilated, but still comfortable with my duvet. While I can’t say for sure if my skin is benefiting much from sleeping on them, I haven’t noticed any new breakouts or irritation, which is important to me.
Bottom line: These sheets meet all my requirements and I can definitely see myself enjoying them all year round because they are so comfortable. Not only are they comfortable in terms of temperature, but as someone who takes extra precautions when coming into contact with their skin, it’s good to know that Eucalpyso sheets are not irritating in any way.
My sleep preferences: I am a very sensitive sleeper, so I suffer in silence regardless of the time of year. As someone who continues to struggle with the transition to complete insomnia, I find summer to be the hardest time of the year. Since 2014, they’ve been creating what they call “impeccable bedding.” What sets them apart is that their linens are made in a family-run factory in the Guimarães region of northern Portugal, according to the brand’s website. Parachute products are also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, meaning they meet the highest testing standards for hazardous chemicals and synthetics.
My experience: I’m a linen freak and I think it’s a luxurious fabric for those unbearable nights when you’re sweating. Parachute is made from pure European linen – I can’t tell you what that means, but I will say that the texture is cloudy soft! My bed is always like a nest when covered with this set and I usually sleep soundly through the night.
Bottom line: I admit I’m a little biased, as I’ve been making my bed with parachutes for a long time, but the quality is simply undeniable! You can’t go wrong with the whole set and it comes in 10 different colors so it really suits everyone. It’s worth it.
About the brand: Bed Threads’ vision is to produce products that are “high quality, easy to clean, environmentally friendly, affordable and beautiful.” The bedding is pure French linen sheets that don’t cost a fortune. As usual, linen is advertised as having natural thermal properties so you can stay comfortable all year round.
My Experience: As with Piglet linen sheets, I find these sheets to be durable, beautiful, and great for temperature control. 100% French linen It’s hard to go wrong with linen. They meet my needs to ensure a comfortable sleep.
Bottom line: Bed Threads is another brand with high quality products available in a wide variety of colors (currently 22!). My friend has different shades of sunset in bed and I’m downright jealous (although it’s hard to go wrong with white linen sheets). I would sing these sheets any day.
About the brand: The Citizenry is known for its sustainable and fair trade furniture, décor and bedding. Woven in a family-owned factory in Portugal, these linen sheets are made from French linen and finished in a muted palette of olive and ochre. I’m curious to see how this set compares to other natural fiber sheets I’ve tested and if they’ll be as cool and soft as the brand promises.
My experience: I love wearing linen in the summer so I’m excited to try my first set of linen sheets, but I’m worried the material will be too hard to sleep on. Luckily, not only do I love the look (I chose olive), but the stone-washed fabric is so soft and inviting. The material is definitely crispier than silk, but I quickly got used to its texture and it provided ample ventilation throughout the night. In addition, I washed my kit twice, and each time it became softer and more comfortable.
Bottom line: I’m not sure what impressed me more: the cooling quality of these sheets or how cute they look. As expensive as these sheets are, I can say they really stand the test of time because the stronger the better.
About the Brand: Piglet was founded in West Sussex, England with the goal of creating comfortable, beautiful, high quality essentials – all successful descriptions of bedding. Known for its exceptionally soft linen, the site claims that “Natural long fibers help regulate body temperature during sleep, are breathable and highly absorbent.” In addition, the more worn out the laundry, the softer it will be.
My experience: these are really hard sheets, so the weight and strength are felt first of all. I like a wide range of colors, but I settled on classic white. The more I sleep on these sheets, the softer they get – it’s true. I also found the sheets to be perfect for my normally hot body temperature.
Bottom line: while the price of this set is a little high, the quality is unbeatable and I expect to use them for as long as they last (looks incredibly long!). You really get what you pay for so I would say these are A+++ sheets.
About the brand: Cozy Earth is the brainchild of a couple looking for a smarter solution to their conflicting temperature preferences. They came up with a line of breathable, moisture-wicking bamboo sleep essentials that Oprah described on her 2018 Favorite Things list as “the softest bedding.” If in doubt, the brand allows returns and exchanges within 100 days, as well as an additional 10-year warranty against defects.
My experience: Sleeping on these sheets is like wearing luxurious, lightweight silk, which often makes me want to not get up in the morning. At first, I immediately noticed the softness of the bamboo viscose fabric and the very good fit of the sheets. While it still has a good weight, the fabric is thin enough that air can easily pass through the layers, keeping me comfortable all night. Even more impressively, the sheets kept me cool and dry for days at 90 degrees or so, when I would normally use a fan for comfort (which I don’t like to do because of the noise). If I only had one wish, I wish these sheets were not in white (but luckily I was told that the brand would be releasing more colors later this year!).
Bottom line: riding on these sheets is like a refreshing treat, and it makes me feel like I’ve found Comfort Earth summer bedding. Besides, if Oprah agrees, who am I to disagree?
About the brand: Purple is a company founded by two brothers with a mission to revolutionize the way we sleep. According to their website, their sheets are made from 90% bamboo viscose and 10% spandex and are designed with a “cool, breathable stretch material for total hip and shoulder comfort.”
My experience: I’ve always strived to make my home more sustainable, so starting with bedding seemed like an easy decision. I don’t know what to expect from bamboo sheets but I quickly found this bed to be very stretchy and I’m not used to standard sheets. To my surprise, the stretchy texture was so comfortable that I wrapped myself in the sheets like a caterpillar in a cocoon! The first night I tried them, I woke up feeling well rested and refreshed. Honestly, it was the smoothest transition.
Bottom Line: These sheets are highly breathable, giving you the ability to lie in any position without interruption, making them the perfect deep sleep companion. I think I may have found my new safety blanket… Purple also comes with a one year warranty so you can get your money back if you’re not satisfied.

My Experience: The name “My Sheets Rock” had high expectations for these sheets and I’m happy to report that they did not disappoint. Bamboo viscose is very pleasant to the touch and silky smooth. In fact, I was surprised how similar this material was to one of my favorite French silk shirts. The sheets were refreshing whether I got in or out of bed. Plus, I appreciate the little design details, like the label indicating which corner of the mattress the sheets are on, and the cheeky “if in doubt, call mom” label.
Bottom line: While these sheets are for men, I think anyone who is prone to night sweats will love them, and they are available in 10 colors. They seem like a solid introduction across the board for those who are skeptical about bamboo or looking to upgrade to raised sheets.
About the Brand: Pom Pom at Home is a Los Angeles-based marketplace for premium Belgian bedding that is said to be sustainably sourced and free of harmful substances and synthetic materials. On its website, the brand claims to offer the “most refined, natural, and highest quality fibers” in its products.
My experience: These 100% viscose silk sheets made from bamboo will give you a feeling of pure luxury. Compared to some other sustainable bed linen brands I’ve tried in the past, Pom Pom at Home doesn’t compromise on quality or integrity by presenting itself as a luxury brand. My sleep schedule is fully activated and every morning I find it hard to get out of bed. The color impressed me!
Bottom line: If you prefer classic cotton but want to switch to a more sustainable fiber like bamboo and still feel luxurious, then Pom Pom at home is the way to go.
About the brand: Often compared to crisp cotton buttons, percale is considered breathable and cool to the touch. Not to turn me into a fast-melting human popsicle every night, that sounds great! Saatva suits are made from 100% organic cotton, lightweight and durable.
My Experience: Of all the sheets I’ve tried, these look the most like expensive hotel sheets I’ve come across and the price definitely reflects that! However, they are fair trade and GOTS certified, which I believe is something that pays more across the board. These sheets do have a cooling effect, not as dramatic, but they also do the job well and look like they’ll last forever. I love gray and blue tones.
Bottom line: If you sweat a lot in your sleep, I would recommend trying something like eucalyptus or flax. If you are looking for a very beautiful and well made sheet set that will also help you cool down, I would say that Saatva is the best choice for you.
